After School Club Leader & 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Grade C: £13.26 to £13.69 p/h for ASC & Grade B: £12.85 to £13.05 p/h for 1:1 TA, depending on experience.
The Devon Moors Federation is an established eight school federation. It consists of Clyst Hydon, Copplestone, Filleigh, Kilmington, Lympstone, Shute, Spreyton & Upottery Primary Schools. We are also part of the United Schools Learning Partnership Co-Operative Trust that we joined in February 2018.
Spreyton School is a small, friendly primary school with lovely children and a supportive staff with a huge range of expertise. We prioritise the well-being of our children and staff, making it a nurturing and enjoyable place to work. We have two vacancies available, and we welcome applicants applying for both positions. Applications are welcome from both experienced and less experienced TAs.
Position 1: We are seeking an After School Club Co-ordinator to run the club at Spreyton Primary School, ideally to start on Tuesday 21st April 2026. This is a fixed-term position due to external funding of an unknown duration.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running the after-school club 2 days a week on Monday & Tuesday from 3.15pm until 5pm, during term time only. You will follow a timetable of activities agreed with the Head of School and will be responsible for setting up and packing away before and after the club. You will be motivated, enthusiastic and able to communicate well with children and parents.
Position 2: We are looking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team for the start of the Summer Term on Tuesday 21st April 2026. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work 1 to 1 with a child in Key Stage One with SEN requirements. The hours are 9 hours per week to be worked across three afternoons (Monday to Wednesday) and will include lunchtime cover. You will be required to provide support both in and out of the classroom environment. You must have a passion for helping children learn and develop, be able to build good relationships and have good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
Experience of working with children with autism would be an advantage but is not essential.
This is a fixed post linked to the SEND funding for a child in the school. The post is linked to the continued attendance of the child and their continued funding to meet the SEND needs.
A qualification in paediatric first aid is desirable but not essential as the relevant training will be provided if necessary.

Foundation Stage Practitioner – Spreyton Primary School

Spreyton Primary School is a small and friendly two-class school with 29 children on roll. As a small school, we are able to cater to individual needs, prioritise well-being and be flexible with children's individual needs. We currently have a vacancy within the school. We are looking to appoint a Pre-School Practitioner for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and all day Thursday. This is a permanent post. Some lunch cover is also required. The children at Spreyton are a joy to work with – being a small setting means we get to know our children really well, and reap the rewards of this relationship-based approach to learning. The pre-school age children at Spreyton Primary School are part of a Foundation Stage Unit which is open during term time. We are looking for a Level 3 qualified Pre-School Leader to work under the direction of the class teacher and Head of School to lead and organise activities for pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage Unit, including reception age children, ensuring that children coming to Spreyton get the best start possible to their educational journey. This role would suit someone looking to develop their ability to plan and lead activities within a small and supportive environment. This role is for 21 hours per week. A suitable and relevant Level 3 qualification is essential for this post. There may be an opportunity to extend these hours in other roles within the school.
