About Us

We hope our website provides all the information you need and offers an insight into life at our wonderful schools.

The Devon Moors Federation is a place of discovery, where our aim is for every child to develop their talents, reach their potential, and flourish in a happy and supportive environment.

Our Federation is made up of eight unique schools: Copplestone Primary School, Filleigh Primary School, Spreyton Primary School, Kilmington Primary School, Shute Primary School, Clyst Hydon Primary School, Lympstone C of E Primary School, and Upottery Primary School. Each school has its own distinct character, yet together we are stronger - sharing expertise, resources, and opportunities to deliver the very best education for all our pupils.

The Federation is overseen by one Governing Body, an Executive Headteacher and a School Business Manager. Each school has a Head of School who leads the day-to-day organisation, while leadership, teaching expertise, support staff, and resources are shared across all schools. Our collaboration extends to curriculum planning, staff training and educational visits.

Our partnership has enriched learning experiences and strengthened outcomes for children across the Federation. We are committed to building on this success and to continually striving for the highest standards of education.

Our curriculum is broad, balanced, and engaging, designed to provide rich opportunities for children to apply their literacy, numeracy, and digital skills through creative and meaningful themes. Some specialist teaching in PE, Music and French further enhances the learning experience, and our forest school and extracurricular activities offer a wide variety of physical, cultural, and creative opportunities.

At the heart of all we do is a commitment to recognising and nurturing each child’s individuality. We want every pupil in the Devon Moors Federation to enjoy memorable, lifelong learning experiences. Our schools are places to be proud of – with dedicated staff, inspiring learning environments, and pupils who are enthusiastic, engaged, and who are proud to belong.
