The Devon Moors Federation is an eight-school federation. It consists of Clyst Hydon, Copplestone, Filleigh, Kilmington, Lympstone, Shute, Spreyton and Upottery Primary Schools. We are also part of the United Schools Learning Partnership Co-Operative Trust.
Copplestone Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring Head of School, who will lead and inspire our wonderful team of staff and children into the future.
This exciting opportunity has arisen as the current post holder will be moving to be the Executive Head of the Federation in September 2025.
The Devon Moors Federation is a well-established and maintained Federation which was formed several years ago and has recently grown to eight schools. Copplestone School has seven single-age classes and a thriving pre-school and is located in a semi-rural location with good transport links.
Our Head of School will:
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner for 0.4 FTE and have a proven record of raising attainment for all pupils.
- Have a clear understanding of school improvement and be able to lead other staff in delivering this.
- Have a vision for the school and be able to communicate this with all stakeholders.
- Be passionate about developing links with our community.
- Nurture a positive and inclusive school culture, where everyone can succeed.
- Have a positive, can-do attitude, energy and a sense of humour.
- Work closely with the other Heads of School, Executive Head and Governing Board to deliver the vision of the Devon Moors Federation.
- Prioritise safeguarding in all aspects of school life.
